Put some spin on your putt

First drag the mouse left or right from the ball, this sets the spin direction of the ball. Shortly after you putt the ball will begin to move in that direction relative to the direction of your putt.

Then pull back the putter and release to hit the ball.

Made in 3 hours for Trijam 82. Didn't have time to add any audio or replay options.

It just seems to me that it's sometimes steering weirdly.

Yeah, I couldn't find a good balance of applying a force vector based on the amount of spin still going and perpendicular to the original direction. Sometimes that makes a feedback loop between the spin and extra vector.
